Cynthia has the technical responsibility for cohort management, barrier removal, and Fisher Fellow teaching and mentoring. She is a conservation educator and program director with twenty years of experience in teaching/training and in the development and implementation of educational training programs. Cynthia has thirteen years of experience designing and implementing intensive training programs and facilitating participatory workshops in rural fishing and farming communities in Mexico, including Baja California Sur in northwest Mexico. She has developed training curricula for local fishermen in more than 30 communities across Mexico and Latin America. Cynthia spent four years designing and managing the implementation of the Fisheries Fellows Pilot Project in the Gulf of California, and the past two years in designing, testing and implementing the incorporation of the Fisheries Fellows model into Rare’s signature Pride program.
