Grant Recipient:  United Way of Siouxland

The Waitt Foundation has been an avid supporter of the United Way of Siouxland for more than 10 years, providing grants to help fund health and human services programs through 26 affiliated agencies. Working with local volunteers and community partners such as the Boys Club of Sioux City and the Waitt Institute for Violence Prevention, the United Way seeks to advance the common good for everyone who lives and works in northwest Iowa, northeast Nebraska and southeast South Dakota.

Targeted Assistance

Widely known an effective way for people to identify human care issues and work together for a measurable impact, the United Way strengthens education, increases income and improves health using the right combination of targeted assistance to help people in every way they need it: An abused woman in need of shelter can also receive counseling, child care and job training… a lonely elderly resident needing companionship can also receive healthy meals and prescription assistance… or, an at-risk high school student can receive tutoring and encouragement in an after-school mentoring program.
